Serguei Vasilievich Kulev was born on 12th October 1948 in the village Verkhniaia Vereia (Vyksunsk Region, Gorky Province, Russia). In 1968 he graduated from the Murovtsev College of Forestry Engineering and took the position of foreman of the sawmill shop at the Ordynsk timber industry enterprise. He served in the Soviet army in 1968-1970, which was followed by studies at the Mechanics Department of the Forestry Engineering Academy in Leningrad in 1972-1977. In 1977-1980 he was with a fibreboard plant of the Vyksunsk timber industry enterprise as master mechanic and deputy director. In May 1981 he joined the Institute for Vine and Wine "Magarach” (Yalta, Ukraine) where he was in various capacities, including the positions of engineer and researcher, and with which he is now as key researcher. In 1989 he completed his post-graduate studies and defended a Candidate (PhD) thesis. His family consists of wife and son.
My long expertise in the development and use of modern machinery for grape processing and production of wine materials as well as research aimed at improvement of technological processes have led to technological equipment which is most suited to meet the requirements of modern wine production and enables minimum capital expenditure and current costs. I am pleased to offer the engineering documentation of technological equipment for wine-making to which no available home-made or foreign devices are similar(and also complete set of drafts). These are:
Installation for cold bentonite slurry preparation УСБ-0,5; Installation for continuous treatment of wine-materails with ingredients ВДИ-10; Pump for grape crush, pump for grape must, etc.
Commercial use of these machines in definite technological processes of wine production leads to considerable savings of energy (up to 60%), a 40 % reduction in filtering aid consumption, a severalfold reduction in reservoir equipment fleet and an increased term of bottled wine guaranteed stability( up to 2.5 years). S. V. Kulev Candidate of Technical Sciences
